Abuja is buzzing with excitement as Layal Jade Tinubu, co‑founder of the Noella Foundation, prepares to host the 2025 Abuja edition of the “Be Empowered!” initiative. This flagship program, now in its second year, is dedicated to equipping young women entrepreneurs with the tools, mentorship and capital they need to start, sustain and scale their businesses across Nigeria. The event kicks off today at the Abuja  and will bring together visionary founders, investors and policymakers for a day of inspiration and actionable growth.

The centrepiece of the Abuja edition is a fresh infusion of funding – an empowerment fund of roughly 30 million Naira earmarked for selected beneficiaries. The grant will be disbursed through a competitive application process that evaluates business plans, financial projections and the potential for social impact. “We are thrilled to back the next generation of women leaders who are turning ideas into enterprises that create jobs and uplift communities,” Layal said in a position paper made available to Cerutti Media 

Adding star power to the lineup, the ceremony will feature Dr. Jarah Amana,a leading voice in Nigerian healthcare innovation, and Shaffy Bello, acclaimed actress and philanthropist. Both speakers will share insights on leveraging entrepreneurship for social good and the importance of supportive ecosystems for women in business. Their presence underscores the cross‑sector commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth.


The “Be Empowered!” Abuja edition is more than a funding round; it is a launchpad for networking, skill‑building workshops and pitch sessions where shortlisted entrepreneurs will present their ventures to a panel of judges. Successful applicants will also gain access to a robust mentorship network, intensive bootcamps and ongoing support from the Noella Foundation’s ecosystem of partners.
