The Lagos Leather Fair, recently organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture under the leadership of Commissioner Toke Benson-Awoyinka, showcased the creativity and innovation of Nigeria's leather industry. 

Held at the Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island, Lagos, the fair brought together top leather designers, artisans, investors, and stakeholders to promote Nigeria's leather value chain

 The fair celebrated the ingenuity and craftsmanship of local leather entrepreneurs, highlighting the industry's potential to boost tourism, generate employment, and elevate Nigeria's global image in fashion and craftsmanship.

 The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting homegrown enterprises and integrating creative industries into the national tourism.

- Addressing Structural Barriers

The 2025 edition of the fair focused on dismantling structural barriers hindering the growth and global competitiveness of Africa's leather industry, including innovation, technology, funding, and market access.

- New Production Hub

 The Lagos State Government announced plans to commission a large-scale leather production hub in Mushin, designed to support local manufacturing, skills development, and economic empowerment ³
