•Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory body for aviation in Nigeria. It became autonomous with the passing into law of the Civil Aviation Act 2006 by the National Assembly and assent of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Act not only empowers the Authority to regulate Aviation Safety without political interference, but also to carry out oversight functions of Airports, Airspace, Meteorological Services, etc as well as economic regulations of the industry.

1. Safety Regulation:
To ensure the safety of civil aviation in Nigeria by regulating and overseeing the industry to prevent accidents and incidents.
2:Licensing and Certification
To issue licenses and certificates to aviation personnel, airlines, and other organizations to ensure they meet the required standards and regulations.
3:Airworthiness Oversight
To ensure that all aircraft operating in Nigeria are airworthy and comply with international safety standards.
4:Compliance with International Standards*: To ensure that Nigeria's civil aviation industry complies with international safety standards and recommended practices as specified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
5:Economic Regulation
To regulate economic aspects of civil aviation in Nigeria, including airline tariffs, routes, and schedules, to ensure fair competition and protect consumer interests.•Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory body for aviation in Nigeria.
