Revealed...PE TESS Vision to Enhance Education in Nigeria

The Global Partnership for Education Education Sector Program Implementation Grant (GPE ESPIG) is a $125m, implemented as the Better Education Service Delivery for All Additional Financing - Transforming Education Systems at State level (BESDA-AF TESS) aims to reduce the number of out of school children, improve teachers teaching practices and measure learning outcomes; strengthen the system through improved teacher deployment and transparent education expenditure.

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and Universal Basic Education (UBEC) serve as the Federal Project Coordinating Unit (FPCU) for the project, focusing on capacity building and monitoring initiatives.

A  three-day training on Physical Planning and Development in Rural Areas using Community Driven Development Approach and Mid- Year Project Review meeting was organized by the FPCU, with the specific objective equipping project officers on key principles for community development such as training of School Based Management Committees, community mobilization, monitoring of improvements for results and fiduciary oversight.



The Mid - Year project review on the other hand was aimed at reviewing the Investment Project Finance (IPF) activities, progress report on ongoing Program for Result activities. Additionally, the meeting was the last engagement of the outgoing Task Team Lead for the Project, Mr Martin Elias De Simone and a valedictory session was held in his honor, with the presentation of gift items from both the National Coordinator and the Special Coordinators of Oyo, Adamawa, and Katsina States (OAK).
