NBA Conference 2024...Prof Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, OFR, delivered a thought-provoking paper

On Monday, 26th August 2024, the esteemed Prof Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, OFR, delivered a thought-provoking paper on the "Intersection between Rule of Law and Human Rights" at the TBS, Lagos, as part of the ongoing weeklong NBA Conference.

Prof Ozekhome emphasized that the rule of law and human rights are intertwined and mutually reinforcing. He argued that the rule of law provides the framework for the protection and promotion of human rights, while human rights offer the content and substance for the rule of law.

He highlighted several key points, including:

- The importance of upholding the rule of law in ensuring the protection of human rights

- The need for a balance between national security and human rights

- The role of the legal profession in promoting and protecting human rights

- The impact of political and economic factors on the realization of human rights

Prof Ozekhome's paper generated lively discussions and debates among the conference participants, who praised his insightful analysis and passionate advocacy for human rights and the rule of law."
