Hall of Fame ....The man Godswill Akpabio & Why they called him the other John Rockefeller

By Mike Cerutti Osagie

The legendary Branch Rickey once postulated that "It is not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind"

And speaking of honour and awards From life, one may no doubt be easily mesmerized on seeing  the long list of awards bestowed on Nigeria's current 15th  President of the Senate in person of Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio CON

He had also before then   served as minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022. He previously served as governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015.

It is no wonder  that some close circle of friends calls him the The Rockefeller of Africa, a tag after the globally celebrated John Davison Rockefeller Sr., the Dustin American business magnate and philanthropist.

Rockefeller was born into a large family in Upstate New York who moved several times before eventually settling in Cleveland. He became an assistant bookkeeper at age 16 and went into several business partnerships beginning at age 20, concentrating his business on oil refining.

Rockefeller is famed for his life of good giving to the society and that is perhaps the nexus between Akpabio and the  American, unfortunately when formers name is being mentioned..much is spoken of his political pedigree than his life of giving to humanity both at home and abroad..
