For his tireless efforts in cum-batting of fraudsters , old fashioned bottle neck bureaucracy and dynamism in service, the Nigerian Immigration Service Comptroller General, Mohammed Babandede has been named among the esteemed awardees of the grand 2017 Transparency Nigeria Award, billed for December 10th in Lagos Nigeria



 The TNA panel of committee that chose Babandede described him a astute disciplinarian officer and pride of the Nigeria immigration

"We are proud to name his among our awardees, he is tested and trusted, for not long ago, he first sent a team to Alausa and what he found out was that they -the officers there-were resisting change. There are some personnel who do not want the system to change from the way it was before. Unfortunately, when those negative comments were published, they did not get the immigration of the story



 "Babandede came out in open and said " We appreciate all the stories and editorials that were written but we would have loved if they got in touch with us"
And . When he came on board, he did a lot of things to make passport issuance easier. He decentralized issuance instead of it to be in the headquarters alone. They removed cash payment. THEY sometime ago had challenge of booklets which they have resolved. So, the real problem was not related to immigration staff but availability of booklet at that time.
