According to the world body, the process of adopting a child is a very special thought and those who decide to adopt must be rated as special breed of people because of their large and compassionate heart
In Africa, especially Nigeria many parents are now adopting unfortunate kids and the art is now more seen as elements made principality for the Whites alone
One body or organization doing her best to educate the world on art of adoption is the Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASSG)

WORLD LEADERS.COM caught up with the noble body to learn more about them and service they offer and we can reveal to yo today that the HASAAG GROUP is an offshoot of The Heritage Homes orphanage founded in 2006 by Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.


The vision of the organization is simply to change the negative perception of adoption in our society and render support to prospective adopters, adoptive parents and adoptees and advocate for better adoption laws. 

The issue of infertility in our society is a very serious one as it affects about 25% of married couples in Nigeria. Also about 40-45 % of all consultations in gynecological clinics are infertility-related according to medicalworldnigeria.com

Although male infertility has been found to be the cause of failure to conceive in about 50% of cases, the social burden “falls disproportionately on women,” who suffer discrimination, stigma and ostracism according to a WHO report on sub Saharan Africa. 

While some infertile couples will respond to different types of fertility treatments, some sadly will not. This is usually a very difficult position to accept. 

Fortunately for such couples, adoption offers them the opportunity to have a family. Unfortunately though, because of the stigma and shame associated with adoption, it is usually shrouded in much secrecy. It is this stigma and shame that we seek to dispel by enlightening people appropriately on the subject of adoption.

Aim of the Power of Adoption conference 


1.     To dispel the negative impression of stigma and shame associated with adoption in our society.
2.     To garner support for the adoption cause.
3.     To enlighten the general public on the subject of adoption. 
4.     To let people know adoption is a Godly, legal, and honorable way of having and increasing their families.
5.     To let prospective adopters, adoptive parents, adoptees and the entire adoption community know there is a support and advocacy group they can be a part of.
