In Nigeria today as
in Africa as a whole, the dance hall music is fast gaining ground, yet a few
will still ask, what is this all about?
We can reveal today
that Dance hall is a genre of
Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s.
Initially dance hall was a sparser version of reggae than
the roots style, which had dominated much of the 1970s. Two of the biggest
stars of the early dance hall era were Yellow man and
Eek-a-Mouse.

what is the difference between dance hall and
reggae music?
