ONCE OUT-RIGHTLY REJECTED,PRIDE OF AFRICAN FOOTBALL, YAYA TOURE NOW ADVERTISING AGENCY GOLD MINE
The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.-
It is unbelievable but true that Africa's soccer's pure YAYA TOURE,was once out-rightly rejected by Arsenal FC,just unlike his brother Kolo, who might have had a big history with Arsenal - but his Gunners dream ended before it even began, yet he is now pride of the advertising agencies around the globe seeking foray in Africa
For the Ivorian midfield star, though, there are no regrets or bitterness towards Arsene Wenger. Far from it.
Because Toure reckons Arsenal's decision to turn him down as a raw 20-year-old turned him into the player he is today.
It still won't stop Manchester City's giant midfield driving force trying to grind Arsenal's promising start to the season into the turf at the Etihad Stadium - but that will simply be desire not revenge.
According to a file report in London Sun, Toure, then with Belgian club Beveren, can still remember playing as a second striker in a practice match while on trial at Arsenal against Barnet.
Wenger apparently described his display as "completely average" but saw enough to want to sign him.
Work permit problems scuppered that preventing Toure joining older brother Kolo in North London.
But now on £200,000-a-week at City, after three years as a Barcelona player, his career has hardly suffered because of his missed chance at Arsenal.
Fantastic He said: "To be honest I probably wasn't ready to come to England back then. I was young, I had very little experience of football and I don't blame Arsenal for the decision they made.
"I wasn't going to give up because of it, though. I went away and learned how to be a footballer.
"The game has been good to me so there are no regrets from me. I am happy where I am. Barcelona is a great club, a beautiful place to live, a fantastic city. I loved it there. But I had my time there and I have moved to Manchester.
" I am happy here and I want to help City be successful. That is all."
Today, YAYA is not only happy making money on filled of soccer, he is only a mega star, smiling home with million of dollars yearly from advert agencies, latest of which is AIRTELL ,Nigeria's fast growing network provider, this is story of The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.-
