In a recent exclusive chat recently with Cerutti media publisher, Mike Cerutti, that lasted over three hours, one of Africa's greatest designers & style monuments, Mudi Africa, opened up on his secrets to success. Mudi Africa — the first Nigerian designer to build a purpose-built fashion house and style house in Anthony village and Lekki, and the only African designer with shops in five countries — spoke from his heart. 

In this weekend special, Cerutti Media will be dropping one secret every week. We already dropped the first one — Passion. Today, we bring you the second — Drive. Watch out for the third next week.

Mudi Africa said it plain: without drive, nobody can achieve anything. Drive is that fire that wakes you up early in the morning to chase your purpose, your vision, your passion. It is what pushes you past tiredness, past excuses, past "I will do it tomorrow." For Mudi Africa, success is not luck. It is daily push, powered by drive.

He said drive kills procrastination. A man with drive does not wait. He moves. He acts. He executes. Mudi Africa said many talented people fail, not because they lack talent, but because they keep postponing their dreams. Drive, he said, turns "later" into "now."



Mudi Africa also said drive gives you discipline. It makes you package your work in a way that people will be attracted to it. It makes you pay attention to detail, stay consistent, and keep improving even when nobody is watching. Drive is what makes your work stand out when everybody else is doing the same thing.
