  The Maryland and Gbagada Sub-Councils of The Order of The Knights of Saint Mulumba Nigeria (KSM) will jointly commemorate the 2023 KSM founder’s day on Saturday July 29, 2023.  The high points of the founder’s day, fondly called Ojefua Day, will include Holy Mass at the Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Convent Chapel Maryland and the founder’s day lecture at the adjoining School Hall.  A Federal High Court, Abuja has, ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to grant the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, access to his medical records. In a judgment, Justice Binta Nyako, held that the DSS objections to Kanu’s request was unmeritorious. Justice Nyako held that Kanu was constitutionally entitled to have access to both the records he requested for and medical doctors of his choice. However, the judge directed that the independent medical examination of Kanu by his personal physicians should be supervised by the DSS with the entire process recorded and sealed for security purpose. Kanu, through his team of lawyers led by Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, had filed the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/ 2341/2022, against the DSS and its Director General as 1st and 2nd respondents.  Weeks after the public was regaled with misleading stories, the real truth about the dispute between Smile Communications Uganda Limited and American Tower Corporation (ATC), has been unearthed. One of the elements at the heart of the dispute is the high electricity tariff whimsically imposed by ATC on firms. Contrary to what the unwary public was made to believe, the electricity provided by Umeme and charged by ATC was excessive, arbitrary, punitive and discriminating.  For instance, Smile Communications was charged a higher per unit cost of electricity than other companies utilizing similar sites and sources of power.Need it be emphasized that ATC is not an authorized distributor of electricity.
