Operation Protect Cabin crew....As NCAA Releases Fresh Advisory, Warns Travellers Against Assault On Cabin Crew

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has released a fresh public advisory reminding all air travellers to be mindful of how they handle and relate with cabin crew members while on board aircraft across the country.

The Authority in a new sensitization poster titled "CABIN CREW IS NOT THE ENEMY" stated that it is a crime to verbally or physically assault airline staff and cabin crew, stressing that cabin crew members do not make laws but only obey and enforce aviation regulations. The NCAA noted that the primary role of cabin crew is to ensure passenger safety aboard the aircraft.

According to the Authority, any passenger who feels offended by the conduct of any crew member should not take laws into their hands but rather report such unruly cabin crew via its official consumer protection portal, http://cpd.ncaa.gov.ng. It emphasized its mantra of Safety First, Safety Next, Safety Third.




The Authority further cautioned in local parlance that "Cabin Crew Is Not The Enemy, Make You No Fight Dem. E No Good Oooo", as part of efforts to drive the message home to all categories of travellers.

Meanwhile, a source close to the Director General of the NCAA, Reformer Capt. Chris Najomo JP, disclosed that the DG is not happy about reports of how some cabin crew workers are being treated with less respect by some passengers, insisting that the Authority will not hesitate to enforce relevant sanctions against unruly passengers in line with civil aviation regulations.
