Political Scene...."TINUBU WILL SWEEP NORTH CENTRAL AND NIGERIA IN 2027" - EWIE, APC CHIEFTAIN
By Mike Cerutti Osagie, Publisher, Richlist Int Magazine
A prominent political strategist, businessman, and APC national chieftain who coordinated the All North Central victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023, Chief Ewie Aimienwauu, is optimistic that the President is on course for an even bigger win in 2027.
In an exclusive interview with _Cerutti Media_, the chieftain dismissed doubts about the President’s re-election chances and outlined why the North Central zone will remain the backbone of APC’s national strategy.
He described President Tinubu as “a leader who understands the assignment and is not afraid to take tough decisions.” According to him, the first two years of the administration have been about laying foundations that previous governments avoided. “You don’t fix 24 years of damage in 24 months. But you will see the results, and Nigerians are already seeing them,” he said.
On the economy, the APC chieftain pointed to fuel subsidy removal, unification of exchange rates, and increased revenue to states as bold steps that are stabilizing public finance. “For the first time in years, states are receiving more allocation. That money is translating to roads, schools, and hospitals in North Central. That is what voters will remember in 2027,” he told _Cerutti Media_.
In the area of security, he said the President has prioritized equipping the armed forces and supporting community policing. He noted that farmer-herder clashes and banditry in Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and Niger have reduced compared to 2022 and 2023. “Life and property are the first duty of government. We are not there yet, but the trajectory is upward,” he added.
For North Central specifically, he credited Tinubu’s inclusive appointments and infrastructure push as key reasons the zone will deliver massively again. He cited ongoing road projects linking Abuja to Lokoja, Makurdi and Ilorin, as well as renewed attention to agriculture and solid minerals. “The North Central people are pragmatic. They vote for who brings development and carries them along. Tinubu has done both,” he said.
As a businessman, he also praised the administration’s push to attract investment and support SMEs. “The President understands business. The tax reforms, the CNG initiative for transport, and the student loan scheme are all targeted at reducing cost of living and creating opportunities for young people,” he explained. He argued that these policies will mature fully before 2027.
On politics, the strategist said the APC is already reconciling aggrieved members and mobilizing structures across the six states of North Central. “2023 was about proving a point. 2027 will be about consolidation. The President has political capital, goodwill, and a track record to campaign on,” he stated. He added that opposition parties are fragmented and lack a unifying national figure.
He addressed critics who say Nigerians are struggling with cost of living. “Yes, there is pain, but there is also progress. Remove the subsidy and you save trillions. Unify the exchange rate and you stop the bleeding. These are painful surgeries, but the patient will be stronger,” he said. He urged Nigerians to judge the President by the direction of travel, not just by today’s prices.
Looking ahead to 2027, he said the APC’s message in North Central will be simple: continuity, fairness, and results. “We will go to the people with data. With roads completed, with more money to states, with improved security, and with a President who listens. That is a winning formula,” he declared.
He concluded by saying President Tinubu’s re-election is not just about APC, but about Nigeria’s stability. “This President is building institutions, not just projects. North Central believes in him, Nigeria believes in him, and by 2027 the votes will prove it again,” the APC national chieftain told _Cerutti Media_.
