History was made again last weekend 0at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, CFR, held his 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme where over 5,000 constituents and Nigerians were empowered with life-changing items. It was a spectacle of philanthropy at its peak, and a reaffirmation of a man whose name has become synonymous with giving.

At the event, beneficiaries went home with 61 Electric Vehicles, minibuses, cash gifts running into millions, laundry machines, generators, grinding machines, sewing machines, freezers, laptops, educational grants and other business support tools. For many families in Surulere, it was not just empowerment; it was economic liberation. In an era of hardship, Gbajabiamila once again proved that power is nothing without compassion.

What makes this significance special is not just the quantity, but the consistency. For over two decades as House Member, Minority Leader, Majority Leader, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has never failed his people. Year in, year out, Surulere has felt his impact. He has built schools, facilitated roads, secured jobs for youths, and turned Surulere into a model constituency in Nigeria.

As Publisher of The Rich List and The Humanitarian World, we commend this great Nigerian philanthropist. Femi Gbajabiamila is not just a politician; he is a humanitarian, a mentor to thousands, a bridge-builder, and a loyal lieutenant to President Bola Tinubu who has stood by his principal through thick and thin. His recent vindication by the Police, DSS and ICPC over the fictitious PFIPC allegations further proves that integrity still speaks.




His speech at the Stadium was emotional and statesmanlike. He thanked President Tinubu for insisting on due process, and thanked the people of Surulere for standing by him when false stories were written. That is the mark of a leader who does not forget his base. We at Cerutti Media Group join millions to say: God will keep blessing him as a philanthropist and as a humanitarian.

However, as one who has followed his philanthropic trajectory closely, we must ask this question with utmost respect and love: Is it not time for Hon Femi to extend this large heart beyond Surulere? For over 20 years, almost all his empowerment has been for Surulere. Surulere has been blessed beyond measure, and rightly so.

But Nigeria is bigger than Surulere.Hon Femi Gbajabiamila today is no longer just the Representative of Surulere Federal Constituency I. He is the Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria - the engine room of the Presidency. His constituency today is the entire 36 states of Nigeria.

Great philanthropists grow from local to national to global. Chief M.K.O Abiola started from Abeokuta but became Africa's Pillar of Philanthropy. Tony Elumelu started from one office but now empowers 20,000 Africans through TEF. We believe Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has the capacity, the network, and the heart to replicate this Surulere model in the North-East, in the South-South, in the Middle Belt, and in other underserved communities.

While we commend him for remembering his root, we humbly advise, as his friends in the humanitarian community, that he should now look at other areas. Let the Gbajabiamila Foundation touch the IDP child in Borno, the farmer in Benue, the fisherman in Bayelsa. Let his next mega empowerment be tagged "Nigeria First" - not just "Surulere First". That is how legacies become immortal.


In conclusion, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has done well. He has proven that politics can be used as a vehicle for genuine empowerment. He is indeed a great philanthropist, a great mentor, and a great humanitarian ambassador. We celebrate him, we pray for him, and we challenge him to do more - for Nigeria and for Africa. May God keep blessing him, may God keep elevating him, and may his philanthropy know no boundaries in Jesus name.
