High Chief Dr. Benny Obaze  recently celebrated his 2026 birthday and I felt I should send this brief accolades to a man who is a friend, who is a big brother  and who is a father figure to me.

I first met Benny when I was in ThisDay Newspaper, after a big story I did uncovering the Obarisi Dr Clarkson De Majomi which appeared on front page in  Saturday This day newspaper in the late nineties... titled " Collecting cars is my vice "- Majomi

He saw it and  sent the then This day advert Manager, Labake Yembra, to invite me for a Sunday lunch date at the Sheraton hotel & Towers Ikeja, to commend my work. He had just returned from America then and told me his ambition for the style/fashion world in Nigeria. That was the beginning of a friendship that has lasted from the late nineties till today.

Ever since then, we have been in touch. When I went to South Africa, Benny was in touch with me. When I came back, he was in touch with me. He watches my back. Anything that happens to me, he is always there. He is that rare friend who does not forget you when you are far or when you are down.

Today, that young man who shared his dream at Sheraton has built an empire. He is the proud owner of 3-Style Brands( Bevista, Jevista & Rivista)and five shopping outlets across Nigeria. From fashion to business, he has shown that Nigerian dreams are valid and achievable.



Beyond being a businessman,  Dr Benny is a politician, a humanitarian and a philosopher. He is not just selling clothes, he is selling confidence, class and culture. His Italian philosopher's mind has taught many of us to think bigger and act better.

On this historic landmark birthday occasion, I want to wish Lord Benny long life, peace and prosperity. May God continue to increase you on every side and grant you many more years in good health.

Youths must learn from him. As Benny always says, youths must not limit their dream. They must always dream and never give up. You don't need to have the whole capital in the world to start. Start somewhere and grow. Start somewhere and grow.




He also teaches a powerful lesson in networking: When you meet a big man,or billionaire don't just go there and start begging for money or asking for favour ..Offer value to him. Offer value and you will survive.

Happy Birthday, Lord Benny. Thank you for being a brother, a father figure, and a true friend who watches his friends back.
