Mountain Top University recently came alive with joy and grandeur as it hosted the special commissioning ceremony of the Elizabeth Olukoya Center for Fine and Applied Arts. The event drew dignitaries, academics, students, and well-wishers who gathered to witness a milestone in the university’s commitment to arts and creativity.

The new center, named after Elizabeth Olukoya, is envisioned as a hub for nurturing talent in painting, sculpture, design, and other applied arts. University officials described it as a bold step toward positioning Mountain Top University as a leader in arts education in Nigeria.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor praised the vision behind the center, noting that it will provide students with world-class facilities to develop their God-given talents. He emphasized that the arts are not just about aesthetics, but also about innovation, entrepreneurship, and nation building.

Dignitaries at the ceremony commended the Olukoya family for their generosity and





dedication to education. They noted that the center will serve as a legacy that will inspire generations of young artists to dream big and create impact.

Students of the Fine and Applied Arts department expressed excitement, saying the new facility will give them the right environment to learn, practice, and exhibit their works. Many described it as a dream come true for aspiring creatives on campus.

The commissioning featured prayers, cutting of the ribbon, and a guided tour of the center. Guests were shown state-of-the-art studios, exhibition halls, and workshops equipped to support both traditional and contemporary art forms.
