EXCLUSIVE NDDC UPDATE....Dr. Samuel Ogbuku Apologizes Over Sapele-Warri Road, Vows Immediate Repair Work
•By Richlist Int Magazine Team
The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is set to commence repair work on the deplorable Sapele-Warri road in Delta State. The announcement comes after months of public outcry over the worsening condition of the federal highway.
Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians and road users plying the route. He described the state of the road as an embarrassment to the Niger Delta region.
Dr. Ogbuku went further to apologize on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President shares in the pains of commuters and residents who have suffered on the road for years.
According to him, the Sapele-Warri road is not just a road, but an economic lifeline that connects Delta State to other parts of the country. Its collapse has crippled businesses and made transportation costly and dangerous.
The NDDC boss assured that the Commission is already mobilizing contractors and resources to begin work on the critical sections of the road. He said the intervention is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
He explained that the delay in fixing the road was due to funding challenges and bureaucratic bottlenecks, but noted that those issues have now been addressed for work to begin without further delay.
Dr. Ogbuku appealed to youths, community leaders, and stakeholders in the area to cooperate with the contractors and provide a peaceful environment for the project to be executed speedily and to standard.
He emphasized that the NDDC under his leadership is committed to delivering impactful projects that will directly touch the lives of the people of the Niger Delta, not just road projects but also in health, education, and empowerment.
The MD urged Nigerians to be patient with the government, stressing that President Tinubu is determined to fix infrastructure across the country and give the people value for their money.
With this commitment, the NDDC says relief is finally coming to motorists, traders, and communities along the Sapele-Warri axis. The people now look forward to seeing action match the promise.
