London Based Humanitarian & SoccerLover,Bose Adebayo Gets Huge Responsibility

 #AppointedAsChairperson #MethodistHighSchoolOwo

London-based humanitarian and soccer lover Lady Bosede Adebayo has been handed a huge responsibility and appointed as Chairperson of the Sports Committee for Methodist High School, Owo. The appointment comes at a defining moment for the school as it works to restore its proud sporting heritage and build a stronger culture of excellence on and off the pitch.

The decision was announced by the National President of METHSOOSA, Mr. Dixon Akinola Osuporu, following a period of reflection on the state of sports at MHSO. Rather than dwell on past setbacks, the leadership chose to act decisively and put structures in place that would reposition the school for sustained success.

Lady Adebayo, widely respected for her community work in the UK and her passion for youth development through sports, will lead a dedicated Sports Committee constituted to drive this new vision. She will be supported by adviser Chief Kasali Obanoyen, alongside committed stakeholders including Pastor Mike Solanke, Kolade Adesida, Olu Komolafe, and other alumni who believe in the MHSO project.

The mandate is clear: rebuild belief, rediscover talent, and re-establish Methodist High School as a force in school sports across Owo. The committee’s first step was to create platforms that would bring students together, spark competition, and remind them of the proud legacy they represent.

A key initiative launched under this new drive is the Funsho Ayeleso Inter-Class Football Competition. The tournament was designed not just to identify promising players, but to reignite enthusiasm and school pride among students who had begun to lose touch with the school’s sporting identity.

The impact was immediate. Classrooms buzzed with excitement, training grounds filled up after school, and students began to see themselves as part of something bigger. For many, it was the first time in years they felt the MHSO spirit alive again in sports.

The results soon followed. In subsequent editions of the Olowo’s Cup, both the male and female teams returned with renewed confidence. The MHSO Queens made history by claiming the maiden female football title, while the Kings pushed deep into the competition and finished strongly despite tough opposition. The school’s presence could no longer be ignored.

Beyond trophies, the transformation is cultural. Training is now more structured, mentorship is prioritized, and there is a renewed emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and academic balance. The message to students is simple: greatness at MHSO is earned through commitment.

As the tenure of the current METHSOOSA leadership approaches its conclusion, attention is turning to continuity. The question before the MHSO community is who will carry this momentum forward with the same urgency, vision, and heart that has driven the recent revival.

With Lady Bosede Adebayo

now at the helm of the Sports Committee, the answer is becoming clear. One leader’s commitment, one community’s unity, and one school’s resolve have turned a period of disappointment into a story of hope. The journey to make Methodist High School, Owo the cynosure of all eyes has only just begun
