In a historic landmark move,The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted Binani Air Global Services an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's aviation sector. This achievement makes Binani Air the first female-led airline in the country

Sen. Aishatu Binani Dahiru, owner of Binani Air, expressed gratitude to the NCAA for its guidance and professionalism throughout the process. She described the journey as both challenging and rewarding, underscoring her commitment to achieving certification

*Rigorous Certification Process

Capt. Chris Najomo, Director-General of Civil Aviation, commended Binani Air's resilience and determination, praising the airline's management team for their persistence throughout the rigorous certification process

*Scheduled Flight Operations

Binani Air is set to commence scheduled flight operations in April 2026, with initial routes covering Lagos, Yola, Kano, Maiduguri, and Port Harcourt

The airline plans to operate a modern fleet, offering competitive services to passengers. Binani Air aims to fill gaps in Nigeria's aviation sector, particularly in the North-East region

Sen. Binani acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, crediting their commitment to creating an enabling environment for private airlines

The emergence of Binani Air is expected to stimulate efficiency and improve service standards across domestic routes. Industry experts see this as a significant development, increasing competition and encouraging innovation among carriers

Capt. Najomo emphasized that obtaining the AOC is just the beginning, advising Binani Air to prioritize proper planning, professionalism, and continuous adherence to safety and operational standards
