Last Friday night, November 29, I was privileged to be indoors watching the wave‑making “Ali Baba Live” on AIT. The special guest was the lady called Zion Walter, a trained lawyer who runs A non-profit organization called Alpha Development Model Foundation (ADM Foundation)

She spoke on a wild range of issues, but what caught our attention was her warning that to succeed in life one must be intentional and live a life of purpose. We later caught up with her on her Instagram account where she then gave five tips to live a life of purpose

Zion Walter’s journey from the courtroom to the classroom is nothing short of inspiring. After qualifying as a barrister, she realized that the law could only change a few lives at a time, whereas education could shape entire generations. This realization led her to establish the “Empowerment Through Teaching” foundation, which provides resources, mentorship, and advocacy for educators in underserved communities. Her legal background gives her a unique perspective on policy, while her passion for teaching fuels her commitment to uplifting those who shape young minds.

The first tip Zion offered was to define your “why.” She urged the audience to look beyond titles and salaries and ask themselves what truly drives them. When you can articulate the deeper reason behind your actions, she said, every decision becomes a step toward a larger mission, turning ordinary tasks into acts of significance. This clarity, she explained, is the foundation of purposeful living.

Her second and third tips focused on action and growth. She advised listeners to set specific, measurable goals that align with their purpose, breaking them down into daily habits that keep you accountable. Alongside goal‑setting, she emphasized the importance of continuous learning—reading, seeking mentors, and embracing failure as a teacher. By treating each day as a classroom, you cultivate the skills needed to move closer to your purpose, even when the path is uncertain.

Finally, Zion reminded us to serve others and reflect regularly. She said that purpose is never a solo endeavor; it is amplified when we use our gifts to uplift those around us. Closing each day with a brief reflection on what you did well and where you fell short creates a feedback loop that refines your purpose over time. In her closing remarks, Zion left us with a powerful thought: “When you live with intention, purpose becomes the compass that guides you through every storm.”
