High chief Biobaku ,Agba Akin Asoludero of Tigbo‑Ilu Kingdom in Awori Land Speaks Passionately on Importance of Maintain Culture

Only recently High Chief Aare Mojeed Biobaku was honoured with the title Agba Akin Asoludero of Tigbo‑Ilu Kingdom in Awori Land, a ceremony that drew attention from both local dignitaries and the Nigerian diaspora.

Now in an exclusive interview with Cerutti Media High Chief Biobaku has  highlighted the pivotal role of cultural heritage in shaping identity, urging Nigerians living abroad to preserve their traditions despite the distance. He emphasized that cultural continuity is not merely a personal responsibility but a collective duty to keep the spirit of Awori Land alive worldwide.

The newly decorated Agba Akin Asoludero recalled his own journey from the bustling streets of Lagos to the global stage, reminding listeners that the values instilled in him by his ancestors have guided every step of his life. He noted that the richness of Nigerian customs—music, dance, language, and communal solidarity—serves as a beacon for younger generations navigating foreign lands. By maintaining these practices, diaspora members can foster a sense of belonging that bridges two worlds.

Chief Biobaku also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Awori Land for their unwavering support and for bestowing upon him this prestigious title. He pledged to serve as a goodwill ambassador, promoting the cultural wealth of his homeland on international platforms and encouraging collaborative projects that benefit both the kingdom and its diaspora. His commitment extends beyond symbolism; he plans to initiate cultural exchange programs and support scholarships for students eager to study Awori traditions

In his call to Nigerians abroad, the High Chief stressed that cultural preservation is a dynamic process, not a static relic. He urged expatriates to celebrate festivals, share traditional cuisine, and mentor youth in the arts, thereby creating a living tapestry that links the present with the past. Such actions, he argued, reinforce community cohesion and enhance Nigeria’s soft power across the globe.

Finally, Chief Biobaku concluded with a powerful reminder: “When we keep our culture high, we keep our identity strong, and that strength radiates far beyond our borders.” His message resonated with many, reinforcing the belief that cultural heritage is both a personal anchor and a national asset, essential for the continued prosperity of Nigerians at home and abroad.
