• In the immortal words of late mother Therese when she was asked the requirements for people assisting in her work with destitutes in Calcutta , she cited two things,the desire to work hard and a joyful attitude. If someone could be expected to be joyful among the dying and the poorest of poor ,then certainly we can do the same in our situation.

Such was no doubt the two elements that was observed by the organisers.of this year's Public Awareness Lecture For Men's Health Series, which was held yesterday,  August 16 2023 at the Lagos state university teaching hospital complex Ikeja LSUTH Lagos






A very successful and jammed  packed grade A event, the historic lecture had  several speakers, eminent scholars and experts to discuss the topic* Redefining the burden of prostrate diseases in today's men 

Though originally targeted at   men above 40, it saw presence of several she group including few bold women

Highlights of the day included a free registration free prostate cancer scan and free HBO test

Beyond the good organizational abilities of the organisers, there was also refreshments for all in addition to a free Prostate scan ticket for all men to visit the hospital girl a Scan 

The chairman of the day , the very dynamic and visionary CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR – PROFESSOR ADETOKUNBO O. FABAMWO.Of the Lagos state university teaching hospital in his


welcome address called on all the men in the house not to joke with their healthcare

In his words..." Good health is a crown on the head of a well person that only a sick person can see for the greatest wealth is health."






He thanked the organisers of the event for such noble initiatives

On his part, the planning committee chairman and also one of the keynote speakers,



Dr Eluogu thanked everyone who graced the occasion and appreciated all the people who supported heavily in terms of finance and goodwill,then appealed to all and sundry never to joke with their healthcare for a sick man cannot fend for himself not to talk of his family

The event was rounded up with presentation of award plaques to all the key note speakers and eminent people who supported the event
