Political Strategist, Osaro Onaiwu Condemns Fast Rising Rape Cases In Nigeria Today
Highly respected late South African freedom and human Right fighter, Winnie Mandela once gave her vivid impression of evil men raping women when she divulged thus
"Now, should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do with being raped.
"Women don’t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get raped because they weren’t careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them"
Now as if singing from same song sheet with Mrs Mandela, Earl Osaro has added his voice to this new
Earl Osaro Onaiwu who is the Chairman of Governors Mandate Network, in a chat with Cerutti Media Group decried the spate of rape incidences that occured in the past few day.
Onaiwu who was reacting to the gang rape of a 100 level microbiology student of the University of Benin, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa on Tuesday said it was disheartening that the dastardly act of sexual molestation was still finding its way into our society.
“I find it disgusting to read the rape case of that young lady (Uwaila Omozuwa) in Benin. All my life I have detested men who forcefully take advantage of women. Real men don’t rape,” Mr. Onaiwu stated while speaking with our correspondent.
The Governors Mandate boss however advised the police and other law enforcement agencies to quickly unravel the perpetrators of the rape of late Uwa and bring them to justice.
“The only way we can curb this menace is for the police, Civil Defence and DSS to commence thorough investigation into the matter, arrest and arraign all culpable persons,” he said.
The late Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa was found lying in a pool of blood at a parish of the
Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.She had apparently gone to the premises to study ahead of resumption of academic activities.
Her murderers are believed to have attacked and raped her in the church after knocking her unconscious. Evidence at the crime scene showed that her head was smashed with a fire extinguisher.
The church confirmed that the deceased had collected keys to the parish on Wednesday May 27, 2020 “as she had been doing since the lockdown began, for use for her private educational studies
Onaiwu then called on the Nigerian Government to quickly brace up and an end to the new evil we are witnessing today
