History Made As Dangote Foundation Redeem Pledge.. Hands over N7.2bn Renovated MM Specialist Hospital To Kano Govt

The attainment of success in this world of today can be traced to nothing more than determination and long term planning.

 Only last year then Chief Executive of the Dangote Foundation, now Executive Director Ms Halima Dangote has said that the ongoing construction of a multi-billion naira state-of-the-art Operating Theatre and Diagnostic Centre at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano will be completed this  year.

Ms Dangote, who disclosed this when her team visited the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, then  said the Operating Theatre and Diagnostic Centre will cost the Foundation N7 billion.

 And true to her words,the Dangote Foundation last weekend historically handed over the upgraded maternity ward at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital in Kano State, which cost N7.2bn.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Zouera Yousuffou, alongside Executive Director of the foundation, Ms. Fatima Dangote, said the decision to embark on the projects by the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, was to improve the condition of the specialist hospital.

According to Yousuffou, the projects which the foundation embarked on include a surgical and diagnostic centre, laboratory and blood bank facilities, sinking of boreholes, provision of beddings, maternity and laundry wards, and construction of drainage patterns.

She said that within the first two years, the foundation would train medical personnel to handle the equipment to ensure a maintenance culture.

In her remarks, Ms. Dangote, the goal of the project is to bring ease and comfort to the needy.
