political stage now set, and the people ready to come out and vote enemas for
their proffered candidate and party
barely a week from today, the incumbent Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole has
spoken of his desire AND what is expected from men of the 4th estate
of the realm
Oshiomole,
who has vowed to make sure the election is violence free, with total support
from the Nigerian Police and other security bodies, ACCORDING TO an email from
his office to our political platform unit charged reporters from home and
abroad covering the September 28th election in Edo State to be fair
and impartial in the entire report, during and after the election, insisting
that democracy all over the world is dead without free press
“The tension
laden moment like the 2016 Edo Governorship election, is the case study period
that we need truth and objectivity, a time we badly need the courage to speak
the truth, devoid of sentiments and stand on side of democracy for the role of
the media is very clear, we cannot have democracy without free press because the
people have the full right to know all sides of the story of election result
and proceedings,
