TEN YEARS OF PROGRESS

Exactly ten years after staging the historic first ever Nigerian merit award, the force behind the event, media Otunba, SOLA SOLKEM Olugbemiro Last night revealed what motivated him to come up with the rare award night In a mild chat last night at excellence hotel swimming pool segment, Solkem told CERUTTI MEDIA that: 



“ In truth, I was motivated to start the media award night ten years ago because of the sad state I found how the outside world maltreats the Nigeria mass media “ I discovered three factors, I saw some legendary writers dying early, I saw how effort of the men of pen who bring news to the people daily was not regarded, their effort not applauded etc but most pathetic of all I REALIZE THAT THE FUTURE LIKE THEIR PENSION PLAN WAS ZERO 

“Today, am glad that the Merit award has moved to bring some class and dignity to the men of pen, this award now accord them some respect and dignity, it is my hope and aspirations that in future hard working recipient can smile home with like a million each or; like some, our media forces must be encouraged and motivated while still alive, Chief Solkem stated categorically
