ARSENAL OF ENGLAND PAYS GLOWING TRIBUTE TO KANU NWANKWO, PLACED HIM 13TH IN GUNNERS BEST OF ALL TIME 50 TOP LEGENDS

“Some men are born great, others achieve greatness and some have greatness bestowed unto them” –William Shakespeare

Years after he sensationally called it quit with the beautiful game, Nigerian born and Arsenal legend, Kanu Nwankwo has continued to soar like the beautiful Eagle that refused to go frail
Kanu, the former two time African  footballer of the year and  one of the finest African talent ever to play in the  prestigious English premiership leaguer(EPL) was this week historically listed as the 13th best ever player in the history of the respected Arsenal FC aka GUNNERSImage result for kanu nwankwo invisible arsenal line up
IN a celebration of players that have served the club since inception, the Gunners listed 50 of their greatest legends and while it was not a surprise that mercurial Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, Ian Wright and Patrick Veira were the top five, it was eye-popping and most cheering news to note that Kanu was the only African on the revered list and even went on to outclass the likes of big journey men, Sol Cambell, Silvia Wilford, Ashly Cole, Emmanuel Petit, Martin Keown and RAY Palour etcImage result for thierry henry and patrick vieira

The most decorated Nigeria star, Kanu could be recalled joined Arsenal in February 1999 and made his historic debut a 2-1 win against Sheffield United in the FA Cup
His big break occurred in that 15 munities hat-trick against Chelsea during the 1999-2000 season where he helped the Gunners recovered from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2, and eventually went on to 17 times in the  his immaculate 50 match record during his stint  with GunnersImage result for arsenal invincible squadImage result for arsenal invincible squad

Kanu was to eventually spend 6 eventful seasons at Arsenal and helped them win the premiership title in 2001, in that team that was  to be later dubbed by the British press as “ The Invisibles”, a feat he capped with   the prestigious two FA Cups
It is no wonder that today, Kanu is not only regarded as an Arsenal legend, but he still enjoys a prestigious place of pride in the team  and has been bestowed with the power and ability to recommend any African player from across the world top play for the GunnersImage result for arsenal invincible squad
No doubt , to be listed among Arsenal’s all time best 50 is a feat worthy of commendation on the once hole in heart player, who rose to establish the charity NGO called the KANU NWANKWO HEART FOUNDATION, that saw him taking several children with  hole in heart to treatment abroad
