In a health is wealth position paper, made available several
decades ago by Sir Charles Knight, Chief Executive Officer, Emerson Electric, it
revealed that “Your health comes first, without that you have nothing. The family
comes second and your business comes third. You better recognize and organize those
first two, so that you can take care of the third”
Perhaps , it must have been that healthy tip advice that
motivated the Lagos Tennis Club in association with Sterling Bank Nigeria PLC
to stage the first ever 15 km walk, by the foremost tennis group LLTC,

Speaking specially on this historic event, the Group Head
Strategies and Communications, Sterling Bank,
Prince Shina Atilola stated in clear terms that it is because of the multiple
benefits that is derived from walking in life that Sterling Bank decide to
support this laudable project
“It is part of our corporate mission @ Sterling Bank to
partner with organizations like this that cares a lot about people’s health,
offering advice how to prolong life and in conducive environment, when you are
healthy you can do many things, and one way to keep the blood in our system
flowing is not be seating in one place but by constant walking, it is free, you
do not pay to walk and it prolongs life” The chief Strategist Sterling Bank

In a related development, the President of the Lagos Tennis
Club, Chief Barr Rotimi
Edu who said the 15 km walk today is an event
open to the general public and is the second so far, which was motivated in no
small way by the great success of the first, and will commence and take off
from the Lagos tennis club car park, directly opposite Tafawa Balewa square and
walk through LLTC to enter via Marina to Bonny camp, off through Ozumba MBADIWE
, enrooted law school, then zoom to Awolowo way and then back to LLTC” – No doubt
some long walk
In a related development, health freak Governor of Lagos,
Akinwumi Ambode who is special guest is expected to grace the event and later
declare open the newly constructed multipurpose LLTC Gym session
