The event was non other than the much awaited official decoration of legendary soccer icon, King KANU Nwankeo as the new global brand ambassador of StarTimes, alongside for super Eagles marksman, Jonathan Akpoborie
It was one event that will no doubt be talked about for a very very long time to come for its panache, glitz and bliss, and the organisers must surely be giving a path on the back for a top class event
Billed for 10 a.m it kicked off exactly an hour later, with amiable StarTimes Public relations manager Mr Isreal Bolaji recognising members of the high table which included CEO Jack Liu, top Star Timed director, debonair Maxwell Look, representative of NTA director general, Mrs Temilayo Daramola, newly appointed compsny marketing Director, Oludare Gaffs, and the StarTimes chief technical /celebrity analyst, the ex eagle marksman, Jonathan Akpoborie
After the brief intro, Mr Bolaji handed the microphone to the ex international Akpoborie to speak on his view of the German league and why they are all here
A man who was sleek in the attack during his playing days like " quick silver " Jonathan confessed; " I love the German Bundesliga, I am proud to spend all my playing days in Germany, it is great country, with great tradition and football history, StarTimes association with them will no doubt break new ground " he opined
It was after this talk that the audience attention was shifted to the big screen, with all light off and various matches as shown live to teaming fans was beamed, however the highlight was the match shown as prelude bro ushering new StarTimes ambassador to the hall

It was after the TV session that StarTimes director, Maxwell Loko took the stage to describe KANU in superlative arguing that the football hero is a total brand and role model to men, women and youths
Look confessed that when Nigeria was taking on Brazil in that Olympic match his wife was in labour and he dodged to go watch the match, and that his wife given birth to a boy that day, he could have named him KANU
He said the player was chosen to represent StarTimes because both brand share a lot in common and went on to reveal nthst both Kanu and Akpoborie will represent StarTimes i around the world especially the 12 African countries that the company operates in
On his part , the newly appointed StarTimes ambassador thanked all Nigerians for the love they continually showed him and said he will do his best to representing StarTimes well because both him and they company are great and worthy representative of the masses.
