FACT ON KARIFEST DUCHESS:
ONYEKAAH DUCHESS's rise to centre stage was not by accident, when as far back as 2005, as a fresh 100 level (part 1) LLB student at
Nigeria's Premier University, the University of Ibadan, she did a
workshop for Nigerian Law Students tagged "AROUND THE LAW CONFERENCE"
that climaxed with an impressive dinner night with 8 Nigerian
Universities and representatives from other universities, the University
of Ibadan Vice Chancellor ably represented by the Dean of the faculty
of Law of same university, High Court Judges, including law makers from
the Nigerian Upper and lower chambers (Senate and House of Assembly) in
attendance. It turned out to be the only and ever Law conference in
Nigeria for Nigerian Universities organized by a student down till this
day.
She told us exclusively in her Asaba home of
the Genesis of her fighting spirit. In her words: '' Basically, three
factors spurred me to go further in life. My background is one, my
mother was a merchant trader in Agbor, in Delta state back in the days,
and I learnt a great deal from her; it was her who thought me the nitty
gritty of business which am now applying in my life today''
Apart
from the inspiration derived from her mother, another factor that have
acted as her driving force is her hunger and drive for a positive
change, which precede her passion to promote and project Africa in a
positive light.
Great news,keep it up!
