 Mallam (Dr.) Aliyu Habu Fari (Mutawallen Wukari) Teacher, Headmaster, Lawyer, Administrator, Management Consultant, Politician per excellence etc. started his elementary education at Islamiya School, Marmara, Wukari in 1957. Between 1959 and 1965, he was at Native Authority Primary School, Central Wukari, Taraba State. Once a teacher...in simple epithets, no other career is as noble and enviable as teaching during the early years of post independent Nigeria.

 An ardent believer of Cicero’s revered perception of the teaching career; Mutawallen Wukari was in 1966 enrolled into the prestigious Government Teachers College (GTC), Keffi, in the present day Nasarawa State, obtaining the coveted Higher Elementary Teachers Grade Certificate (HETC) in 1970.
Knowledge in the words of Lord Chesterfield is “a comfortable and necessary retreat and shelter for us in an advanced age; and if we do not plant it while young, it will give us no shade when we grow old”. And so, Mallam (Dr.) Habu Fari devoted his youthful years to acquisition of knowledge. From 1972-1977, he was at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Kaduna State, from where he bagged a diploma in law (DIL) 1974 and Bachelor of Law (LLB) 1977. In that same year, he attended the University of Khartoum Sudan, for a post graduate certificate in comparative law (PGCC) a program he successfully completed before proceeding to the Nigeria Law School Victoria Island, Lagos for his Barrister of Law (BL) which he completed in 1978.
During the long years of military rule, Habu Fari took a foray into business, thus, it became necessary to equip himself with an (MBA) from the University of Calabar. He started his work career in Makurdi as an assistant Manager with IMB and Company, before serving in 1972 as Headmaster of the same primary school that he attended. In 1974, he was appointed Assistant Registrar of Courts, Benue-Plateau; Legal Trainee, Gongola State, Yola, 1978; Solicitor and Advocate, Baba Adi & Co., Jos 1979.
Mallam Habu Aliyu Fari, a Solicitor and Advocate of Supreme Court of Nigeria (SASCN); a Doctorate degree holder – Institute of Accounting Executive of Nigeria; member – Fellowship of Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration (CIDA); member – Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (MNII), is also a Certified and Distinguished Financial Administrator (CDFA).

PERI-SCOPING THE MAN’s POLITICAL ODYSSEY
For the past three and half decades, precisely since 1979, Mallam Aliyu Habu Fari has transversed the entire Nigeria’s political landscape and at the risk of sounding immodest, he has bestridden the Nation’s Political Coast like a Colossus. In process becoming not only so many things to so many people but also an immutable beam in the political/structural castle of different parties at different times and in different republics in Nigeria. He is a bridge builder; an expert in the inter and intra party activities, who has made friends and political contacts all over the length and breadth of Nigeria.
Barely a year after completion of the National Youth Service Corp Scheme, Mallam Habu Fari began his political odyssey with his election as an Executive member of the then – National Party of Nigeria (NPN) a position he occupied from 1979-1983; before this appointment, he had served as Director – Research and Strategy, Usman Shehu Shagari Campaign Office.
In the years ahead, Mutawallen Wukari was to occupy several political offices, which came in the following order:

• National Steering Committee Member – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
• Ambassador at Large – Obasanjo Presidential Campaign
• National Administrative Secretary – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

A convenient and prominent member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was at a time in charge of the engine room of the PDP, having served as Pioneer National Administrative Secretary; Member – National Steering Committee PDP 1998-2002 and quite recently – Chief of Staff to the PDP National Chairman. Presently, Mallam Habu Fari, a Consultant on political primaries and elections is Chairman of Abuja based Victory Democratic Konsult.
Oliver Wendell Holmes once wrote that “it is the province of knowledge to speak and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen” and in the same vein the Legendary Tacitus in his book “History” did opine that “reason and calm judgment the qualities specially belonging to a leader”. Nothing can best describe Habu Fari’s leadership qualities other than the fact that he exemplifies the telling qualities prescribed for a great leader and leadership by Tacitus and Oliver Wendell Holmes.
