State of the Nation....Yoruba Council and Civil Society Groups Appraise Dangote Refinery, Warn Unions to Stop Misinformation

The Yoruba Council Worldwide, alongside over 30 Civil Society groups, has commended Dangote Refinery for its recent reductions in petrol product prices. Led by Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq, the group paid a courtesy visit to the refinery, expressing pride in mobilizing support for Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the management.

*A Blessing to the Nation

The group leader described Dangote Refinery as a huge blessing that has come to stay, having surmounted the challenges posed by entrenched oil cabals. According to him, the refinery's courageous stance against process pressure and market disruption is a testament to its commitment to the nation's well-being.

*Call to Action



The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure high tariffs to discourage fuel importation and increase crude supply to Dangote Refinery, with a license for oil exploration. They also implored the President to nationalize oil wells to allow for proper dredging.

*Warning to Unions

The Yoruba Council and Civil Society groups warned DAPMAN, NUPENG, IPMAN, and other oil and gas unions to stop peddling misinformation against Dangote Refinery. They praised the refinery's efforts in reducing petrol prices and creating jobs.

*A Patriotic Nigeria

The group hailed Alhaji Aliko Dangote as a patriotic Nigerian who has brought relief and smiles to Nigerians through his investments. They commended his efforts in uprooting cabals in the sugar and cement industries and reducing dependence on importation.

*A Prestigious Honor




The Yoruba Council Worldwide resolved to confer on Alhaji Aliko Dangote the prestigious Omoluabi Royal Icon title of Aare Atunluse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye, in recognition of his uncommon patriotic spirit and positive impacts as an industrialist.

*Nomination for Nigeria Heroes Awards

The group also nominated Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the Nigeria Heroes Awards as Legend of Democracy, scheduled for October 10, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, FCT, Abuja.
